The success of Commune Agricultural Officers (CAOs) is measured by the number of farmers who achieve increased agricultural income. To support farming households in improving their income, CAOs are expected to apply the following key approaches and activities:
– Conduct economic analysis of farm households
– Cover major productions such as rice, cassava, sweet potatoes, maize, and others.
– Focus on yields, income, expenses, profit/loss, and the farming practices currently applied by farmers.
– Analyze strengths and weaknesses
– Identify opportunities for improvement.
– Develop plans to increase profit through better production management, improved product quality, and more efficient use of expenses.
– Support farmers in implementing improvement plans
– Provide technical assistance.
– Promote the adoption of improved practices.
– Monitor and record progress regularly.
– Evaluate the results of plan implementation
– Measure the rate of income increase.
– Assess the level of success and prepare follow-up plans.
Key Target Group
CAOs are encouraged to focus on farmers with low profits and those facing significant challenges in accessing capital for crop production, so that they can clearly benefit from the improvement efforts.
