Born into a local farming family, Sreyleak has transformed her deep connection to rural life into a mission as a Commune Agricultural Officer (CAO). Rather than working from behind a desk, she remains close to the fields, supporting farmers with practical guidance and vital connections. She links them with organic fertilizer suppliers, reliable buyers, and agricultural training opportunities, helping ensure healthier crops, fairer markets, and stronger food security.
Her role has also proven critical during crises. When a severe drought struck Kampong Thom, she organized meetings and mobilised local leaders and district officers. This led to provincial authorities releasing water from a nearby dam—saving the rice paddies from collapse. For farmers who cannot easily access officials, Sreyleak’s ability to navigate these networks is invaluable. More than an officer, she is a trusted leader and a source of hope for her community.
