Upland Crops Development Center Inaugurated in Mondulkiri Mondulkiri

The Upland Crops Development Center in Mondulkiri Province was officially inaugurated today. Developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Korea, the center covers an area of 2 hectares.
The facility will serve as a hub for research, training, and demonstration in smart farming, potato seedling development using tissue culture, production of high-value vegetable seedlings, and the storage and distribution of vegetables.

The General Department of Agriculture and the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will jointly develop and manage the center, aiming to make it a leading institution for promoting high-value crops—particularly vegetables—in Mondulkiri Province.
The center will also play an important role in training and hosting internships for newly recruited Commune Agriculture Officers (CAOs). Dr. Yang Saing Koma, Secretary of State of MAFF, will coordinate cooperation between the center and CAOs to ensure strong linkages between research, agricultural extension, and farmers.
